What People Say

Pension Ivatan is the newest inn in the island. A literal uphill climb leads to the best rooms which give a perfect vista of the town of Basco overlooking the Kanyuyan Beach and Port and Basco Lighthouse on the right.

Hello! 2007/08/29 04:51
Hi Everyone!

I've known your site through a mail from Miles Liquigan who had posted photos of Batanes and Calayan Islands. I've been wanting to go to Batanes, hopefully in the next 1-2 years. Likewise, is it possible to explore its surrounding islands?

Thank you and regards,

Dennis Rito

Hi Dennis! Thank you so much for dropping by.

Most of the tour packages today include visits to Sabtang and going to the most popular and notable spots in the Batan island. Trips to Itbayat can be scheduled while the other islands can be visited courtesy of local fishermen and boat owners who will accommodate you.

We hope to see you soon in Batanes.

Hi! Do you have rooms available this month between oct 15-30th? Am thinking of going to batanes...

Btw, is it not a dangerous time to go, weatherwise? How is the weather there these days and do the flights get cancelled often? MAny thanks!

Hi, flametreeplace. We are very happy to say that we still have rooms for the dates you asked about.

Batanes, like Metro Manila and the rest of the country, has been getting a lot of rains. But then again, things move on in our sleepy town and Asian Spirit still flies to the islands on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Should the unthinkable happen and flights are canceled due to bad weather, Asian Spirit will reschedule and give you the option of choosing new dates for flying. I also do not want you worrying over your reservation with us as we won't expect you to keep it when you can't come to Batanes in the first place. We will give you the same option that the airline offers and give you the choice of dates when you would want us to house you in Pension Ivatan.
